Woods - Songs of Shame LP

Already a major contender for best of '09,
Songs of Shame is not only Woods strongest effort yet- but maybe one of the best examples of exciting new bands/releases from NYC these days. Although Woods have been jammin' with each other for years in various forms, this LP is focused and beautiful, and perfectly encapsulates their shift from pastoral loner folkers into full-out fuzzed pop mode! Full of memorable harmonies and the typical wah wah psych/CSNY/Elevators/pagan campfire vibe we know and love. Home recorded at Rear House, released on Woodsist. "Road worn, windblown, and deeply grooved." Buy this record here.

  1. i think the sunlit 7" is better, but hey, what does it matter when in the end both record and 7" are so good.

  2. Curious how this compares to Echo Lake... Never heard Sunlit - I'll have to look for it. Thanks for the post!
